Throughout the centuries artists have known that color and art provide benefits to both the creator and the viewer. We are all creative and color affects each one of us in positive ways, enhancing our overall sense of wellbeing.
If you live in the Northern hemisphere it is impossible not to notice and be uplifted by the vibrancy of the Spring and early Summer colors. There are dozens of different greens ranging from the almost dark, black green to fresh, light and almost transparent green hues, the preferred color of the new growth of trees and various shrubs. It made me think about the influence color has on our emotions and moods.
As a fashion designer in an earlier life I continue to have a passion for clothes, fabric and colors. I also know that different colors will have a different impact on how I feel about myself and my surroundings. We are all different and different colors will affect us in different ways with each of us favoring our own personal palette.

Sadly, as we get older we tend to assume erroneously that vibrant, bold colours are for the young. This is a downward spiral towards beige invisibility! As color has an impact on our feelings and emotions it makes absolute sense to use color consciously to create an environment that is supportive to our wellbeing. It is also fun to experiment with different colors, shades and color combinations to create different moods and ambiance.
